i-Metrix
eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) transforms financial information from blocks of text into interactive data by providing an identifying tag for each line item of data. For example, "Net Income", "Short Term Investments" or "Retained Earnings" have unique tags. Using these tags, XBRL can be leveraged to facilitate better and faster financial analysis model building, and comparisons between companies and across borders. Because I-Metrix converts data to XBRL electronically directly from EDGAR submissions, users are assured that the XBRL data they access is always consistent with what was filed at the SEC.
